Scientists of Our Region

Our region has been studied by many prominent scientists who explored its nature, flora, fauna, as well as its geology and zoology.
One of the greatest sources of pride for our region is Kanysh Imantayuly Satpayev, a geologist, scientist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, professor and academician.
Beside him is his student, Patshaima Tazhibayeva, the first woman of Kazakh origin to become a prominent scientist in the field of geology.
Here we can also see Boris Petrovich Trizna, one of the founders of the regional museum. He made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of the museum and to the preservation of its historical heritage.
Kanysh Imantayuly Satpayev was an outstanding Soviet and Kazakh geologist, mineralogist, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, professor and academician.
Kanysh Imantayuly Satpayev was one of the organizers of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and became its first president. He was an academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and is recognized as one of the founders of the Soviet and Kazakh school of metallogeny. He was also the first Kazakh to become an academician.
Satpayev played an important role in the development of science and technology in Kazakhstan. He became the first Kazakh to receive a Doctor of Science degree and the first academician from among the peoples of the East in the USSR in the field of science and technology. He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR and became the first recipient of the Lenin Prize in Kazakhstan.
Patshaima Tazhibayeva (1920–1991) was a Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1960) and a professor. In 1967, she became a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan.
Her main scientific works focused on the study of sedimentary rocks and ore deposits of Central Kazakhstan.
