Mount Kazygurt is a source of pride of the Great Steppe, which was known in ancient times as Turan and later as Turkestan.

Since ancient times, a beautiful legend has been passed down from generation to generation. It begins with the words: “An ark remained on the summit of Kazygurt; if it were not sacred, why would it have remained there?”

This legend has a deep philosophical meaning. Through their songs and poetic traditions, our ancestors spoke about the earth as the source of life and human existence, as well as about soil, plants and livestock. In this way, they passed down to future generations the understanding of the sacred significance of Mount Kazygurt, where, according to legend, the Ark of the Prophet Nuh (Noah) came to rest.
