Mesozoic Era

The Mesozoic Era was a period when dinosaurs and flying reptiles were widespread on Earth.
Before you is a bird-hipped dinosaur. Under number 22, you can see a fragment of one of the dinosaur's bones.
This fossil was discovered during the construction of the Shymkent–Tashkent road during the Soviet period. The dinosaur was originally found with almost its complete skeleton. At that time, the discovery was taken to Russia for further research. However, one part of the specimen remained in our museum. This bone fragment is now displayed in our exhibition.
Also displayed here are fossilized impressions of ancient fish preserved on the surface of rocks and shark teeth.
