The Iron Age was a transitional period that connected the ancient history of humanity with later historical eras. By learning how to smelt and use iron, people opened the way for further technological and civilizational development.

During this period, animal husbandry and agriculture developed significantly. Nomadic life became established, and migration processes took place.

The Iron Age covers the period from the 8th to the 3rd century BC.

In front of you are archaeological artefacts dating back to the Iron Age. These burial mounds belonged to members of the Saka elite who lived during this period. Later, during the Dzungar invasions, some of these mounds were used as observation and defensive hills.

Under number 5, you can see the remains of a bowl containing food, which was specially preserved by our researchers. People believed that life continued in the afterlife after death, so the deceased was buried together with food.

The exhibition also presents a bronze bracelet, a mirror, and various vessels.
