Karauyngir

In general, people began inhabiting the southern region of Kazakhstan as early as the Old Stone Age. One of the important pieces of evidence is the Karauyngir archaeological site, located in the Tulkibas District.
Before you is a model of the Karauyngir site, which dates back to the Neolithic period. The site was discovered in 1959 by the well-known archaeologist and scientist Khasen Alpysbayev.
Animal bones were discovered inside the cave, including those of wolves, kulans, deer, bears, and other animals that lived in this area in ancient times.
The earliest inhabitants mainly survived through hunting and gathering.
Our exhibition also features the earliest stone tools of the Arystandy culture, discovered in the valley of the Arystandy River at the Shokan Ualikhanov archaeological site in the Greater Karatau mountain range.
The exhibition includes stone tools dating back to the Neolithic period, such as scrapers, cores, blade-like flakes, arrowheads and borers.
